Yixing (Energy Saving and Environmental Protection) is awarded as the Innovation Base by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province. Meanwhile, it is accredited as the "National New-model Demonstration Base of Environmental Protection Equipment" by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the "National Torch Plan - Yixing Environmental Protection Equipment Manufacturing and Service Industry Base" by Ministry of Science and Technology. Products covers 6 main areas concerning water, sound, gas, solid, equipment and supporting products with over 200 series and over 2000 categories. In 2011, there are 120 export enterprises with total trade volume amounting to 210million dollars.

The base has established cooperative relationships with more than 300 Colleges and Research Institutes from over 20 countries. Over 70 research and development institutes of all kinds of level with 4000 professionals have been established.
